Sindh Government published job advertisement on December 17, 2023 in Daily Dawn newspaper. Applications are being issued for various job posts in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Vacancies include Deputy Director Technical, Deputy Director Procurement Contracts, Deputy Director Procurement Contracts and Computer Operator. Preferred educational qualifications for these positions range from MPhil, MS to master's degree.
The positions advertised are:
- Director Procurement and Contracts (One Position)
- Computer Operator (One Position)
- Deputy Director Procurement and Contracts (One Position)
- Deputy Director Technical (One Position)
The minimum qualifications for the positions are:
- Director Procurement and Contracts: Master's degree in Civil engineering/ Procurement/ Construction Law or related discipline from a HEC recognized university. At least 15 years of post-qualification relevant experience including 5 years at a senior management level position is highly desirable.
- Computer Operator: Bachelor's degree from HEC recognized University/ Institute preferably Computer Science/Software Engineer. Excellent verbal and written computer skills with exceptional reading and listening abilities and 30 words per minute speed on computer. Proficient in MS Office with outstanding typing skills and proficiency in IT, Microsoft Office and relevant softwares is essential. At least 02 years of experience in computer related field in donor funded projects.
- Deputy Director Procurement and Contracts: Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related field from a HEC recognized university. Higher Qualification and/or Foreign qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management/ Construction Law or related field from HEC recognized university or Foreign Qualification will be considered an added advantage. Atleast 7 years of post-qualification relevant experience. Candidate should have demonstrated experience of Multinational and Donor Agency infrastructure project. A minimum of 5 years of procurement and contract management is highly desirable.
- Deputy Director Technical: Bachelors in Civil Engineering/Transport Engineering from a HEC recognized university. Higher Qualification and/or Foreign qualification in Transport Engineering will be considered an added advantage. Atleast 7 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
Job Vacancies
Position: Director Procurement and Contracts - (One Position)
Qualification: Master's degree in Civil engineering / Procurement / Construction Law or related field from a HEC recognized university or foreign qualification of equivalent standard.
Experience:
- At least 15 years of post-qualification relevant experience including 5 years at senior management level.
- Demonstrated excellent knowledge in the field of contract management and procurement.
- Proven ability to efficiently work with other professionals and institutions.
- Experience of working with donor funded projects is an added advantage.
- Must be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Position: Deputy Director Procurement and Contracts - (One Position)
Qualification: Bachelor's or Foreign qualification of related field from a HEC recognized university / Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized foreign university.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of procurement and contract management experience.
- Relevant International work experience will be considered an added advantage.
- Specialized training / Professional training courses pertaining to relevant field for the position will be considered an added advantage.
- Must be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Position: Deputy Director Technical - (One Position)
Qualification: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering/Transport Engineering from a HEC recognized university or foreign qualification of equivalent standard.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of Highways / Roads design and construction.
- Relevant International work experience will be considered an added advantage.
- Specialized training / Professional training courses pertaining to relevant field for the position will be considered an added advantage.
- Must be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Position: Computer Operator - (One Position)
Qualification: Bachelor's degree from HEC recognized University in Information and Communication Sciences/Software Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other pertinent IT applications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in computer related field preferably in IT Monitoring.
- In-depth knowledge of IT and its applications.
